Common Coaching Questions
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between the Coach and Client to help deepen personal awareness, develop talents and hone skills skills to enable individuals to perform at an optimal level. Coaching can be provided 1:1 or in group settings.

Are Sessions Confidential?
I am committed to confidentiality and following the ICF Code of Ethics. However, unlike what you may experience with clergy, doctors and lawyers, our discussions are not considered privileged for legal purposes. That said, I will always maintain your privacy and confidentiality to the extent I'm permitted to by law. Additionally, if your company is paying for your coaching, you have the option of involving your manager in periodic "alignment" sessions, where we will together discuss the goals for coaching and invite your manager to share insights and suggestions. However I will never reveal anything personal about our discussions to your manager without your express permission.
How is Coaching different from Therapy?
While Coaching can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is not designed to address psychological issues or treat psychological disorders. The primary focus of coaching is forward-facing. We work to address your specific career or life goals, develop new habits, and focus on what you want for your future. If a topic comes up that is more appropriate for therapy, I will let you know and am happy to refer you to a therapist.
How can we get Started?
We'll start with an initial 30 minute "chemistry session" to determine if I'm a good fit for your needs. If we are, then I'll send you pricing and package options, and a written Coaching Agreement to sign. If you or I decide we are not a good fit, then I'll be happy to refer you to other Coaches in my network. Once we are under contract, we'll work together to schedule future sessions at a cadence we agree on - typically I recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions over a minimum of 3 months to enable sustainable progress.
